Chairman's Christmas Message (posted Wed 13th Dec 2017)

It is with great pleasure that I present my first Xmas message as Chairman of Tring Athletic Football Club. I have been in post about 3 months since taking over from Mick Eldridge who did a brilliant job as Chairman and fortunately he will still be around to provide help and advice.

The Club has huge potential and is in a very good position having purchased the freehold of the stadium and top pitch and with good sources of income. We want to continue the progress that has been made over the years and my team and I are busy preparing plans for the next stage of our development. We hope to publish details of these plans in the near future.

On the field we had a slow start to the season but Ian Richardson and his team seemed to have rallied the players and they are producing some good results now culminating in our recent terrific win over Berkhamsted in the FA Vase. There was a very good attendance at the game which included a lot of youngsters, parents and coaches from Tring Tornadoes which greatly added to the atmosphere. We would like to work more closely with Tornadoes for the future benefit of both clubs and arrangements are already in place to achieve that. I was unfortunately unable to attend the game due to a prior commitment but I am really looking forward to the next round on 6th January when Hullbridge Sports are the visitors.

None of the progress made so far would have been possible without the hard work and commitment of the Committee Members, helpers, supporters and volunteers who give up their valuable time to carry the myriad of tasks that have to be carried out before and after games and ensure the Club runs smoothly. Unfortunately there isn't room to list them all but without them the Club couldn't function and I would like to thanks them all for their fantastic input.

Finally I would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

That day Athletic ran out 3-2 winners which saw a young Sam Jolliffe as an unused sub in his first season at the club.

Hullbridge have so far beaten Ilford (3-0) Colney Heath (1-0) Wembley (3-2 and Enfield 1893 (3-2)

CAR PARKING (posted Mon 20th Nov 2017)
Pendley Sports Centre Limited
Date: 20th November 2017
An open letter to all Sports Clubs on the Pendley Site.
Dear Members,
As you will be aware all car parks on our site are jointly shared by all clubs and maintained by Pendley Sports Centre Ltd. Last season we received feedback that the main car park was in disrepair and the bay marking were poor. This resulted in poor parking and members being blocked in. Acting on your feedback, repairs were done to the main car park and new white lines were painted. This season however, the poor parking has increased and we are getting reports that cars are being blocked in on a more regular basis. This is not only on match days/evenings, but on training days as well. This is selfish parking.
Blocking cars in on the assumption that everyone is attending the same event is wrong.
When using the car park please ensure you only park in a marked parking bay.
We know parking is limited and we continue to discuss ways to address the problem, but the options available to us are limited. Club committees are asked to bring this to the attention of visiting clubs.
Yours faithfully
Mark Bullard
Secretary, Pendley Sports Centre Ltd
