For the first game of the Juraszek/Crawford stint we travelled many a mile to newly promoted Wallingford Town of Hellenic League Div.1.
With Charlie Whatmore stuck in work, Tom Shaw on a coach trip to the Lake District and Gareth Terrablance missing his lift we still managed to get 16 players to this neck of the woods.

As you can see there were few familiar names and this together with the length of the grass on an otherwise excellent pitch meant we started slowly against a side still confident from last seasons success.

After 15 mins they took the lead after an error from keeper James Catlin, who apart from two mistakes had a decent ,kicking well and making a couple of one on one saves. Score 1-01. Our reaction was excellent and following a pass from full back, Ben Vicos ,who was excellent, resulted in a cross from Ryan Forbes forced home by Jack Sunderland. Score 1-1.

The game now changed and using our pace up front we scored a quick second from the spot when the scorer Josh Adelikeka who used his pace and strength to force a foul. Score 1-2. After 35 mins a 3rd goal came from an own goal following another cross cemented the lead. Score 1-3

We looked relatively comfortable in the second period and introduced a number of subs which had the effect of disrupting us but until another error from our custodian in the 75 min we were coping relatively easily. Score 2-3. With Wallingford pushing on we played longer in behind their back 4 and saw the game out.

The pre match build up was a bit rusty and some vital information was missed out but the squad were reminded that we have to be there or thereabouts with every game in this Suburban Premier Division.
