Our unbeaten pre season record came to a halt when Chinnor scored a header from a corner with literally the last play of the game. Our opponents from the Hellenic Div 1 turned up with a full First team squad and playing up the slope on the Top Field pitch settled more quickly and had more of the play without really creating any clear openings.

After 20 mins we began to settle down and improved visibly the longer the half went on. Ollie Ruttle hit the post and Karl Davison passed up a couple of good chances before some tidy work by John Smith resulted in Karl finishing across the keeper. Our back 3 coped well with the long ball tactics and the game was played at a good pace.

Playing up the slope we reverted to a back 4 and some excellent long passes from right back Tom Shaw created several promising opportunities which again were passed up. Despite 5 players away we still had a squad of 17 but unfortunately too many changes served to let our opponents back in and from a poor kick they equalised and the game could have gone either way . Thank you to the people at Tring for helping with the game and Chinnor for making the lengthy journey.

We look forward to starting our season at old foes London Colney on Wenesday night with a 7.45 k.o.
