Welcome to Under 18s Football !!
Chinnor started the game very strongly, dominating with a fast, aggressive style of football that had us on the back foot for the first 20 minutes.
This pressure took them 2 goals into the lead with strikes in the 5th and 17th minutes.
The remainder of the half was pretty even, with us responding well to the pressure from Chinnor and creating 1 or 2 chances.
In the 2nd half, wed hoped to continue the strong end to the first half and get back into the game.
Unfortunately we were caught-out twice with balls behind our back four and Chinnor went 4 ahead with goals in the 51st and 56th minute.
At that point it would have been easy for heads to go down and the team to have folded they did not.
We took a minute or two to regroup and began again to apply pressure on Chinnor, we were competitive in the challenges and got the ball down and played football.
Despite Chinnor changing their formation in an attempt to keep a clean sheet, we were rewarded with goal from Michael on the 65th minute.
This was to setup an exciting end to the match, with a 2nd goal from Harrison on 71 minutes and a 3rd from Alex on 74 minutes.
The boys effort and application was excellent and we continued dominate right until the last minute.
Chinnor were luck to retain the lead, clearing off the line in the final minute.
This was a much tougher test than last week (obviously) and was a real welcome to Under 18s football.
By the end the boys stood up to it well and were unlucky not to salvage something from the game.
In this development year for our boys, this was a real examination well be even better next time.
